Angie Pedersen Writes

Angie Pedersen content strategist and copywriterPlease allow me to introduce myself. My name is Angie Pedersen, and I’m a content strategist and web content writer.

I have a background in journalism, marketing, and social media. I also have experience as a website administrator and Data Analyst, which gives me the expertise to write about technical concepts in an easily understandable way, from a marketing perspective.

My first book, The Book of Me: A Guide to Scrapbooking about Yourself (E.F.G., Inc) was published in 2002. The book met such a need in the scrapbooking industry, it went back for a second printing within four months of its release, and a fourth printing within a year.

After a year of speaking and teaching Book of Me classes across the United States, I released my second book, Growing Up ME: A Guide to Scrapbooking Childhood Stories (E.F.G., Inc, 2004). My third book, The Book of Us: A Guide to Scrapbooking about Relationships (E.F.G., Inc), followed in 2005. My fourth book, The Star Trek Craft Book, came out in 2013.

I coordinated and facilitated a Virtual Book Tour for my third book, visiting 15 sites over a two-week period. The tour reached over 5800 people in my target audience, to RAVE reviews. The tour was a huge hit in my niche, and just plain fun for me.

My books have sold more than 200,000 copies worldwide, and served as a classroom resource for local scrapbooking stores, online communities, and adoption/foster care lifebook programs.

I’ve written articles for more than 10 publications, for both trade and consumer audiences. I specialize in writing about social media marketing.

I’ve have been writing for the web since I built my first website on Geocities back in 1997. I have developed, edited, and contributed web content for multiple niche and corporate websites, as well as my own KCGeeks.com.

I started blogging in 2003, and have consistently ranked as the #1 Google search result for several target keywords.

I’m passionate about business blogging and social media marketing. For several years, I worked one-on-one with small business clients, collaborating with them to promote brand awareness and increase customer loyalty. I helped position small businesses as experts in their industry through blog and social media marketing, online press releases and web copywriting. My work included search engine optimization (SEO) editing for one of Shutterfly’s blogs. I also worked with clients to create press kits for trade shows. Most recently, I worked as a content strategist for a Kansas City $100MM digital marketing agency, and currently work as content and social media manager for a global safety certification corporation.

Be sure to ask me about the holiday I invented for a marketing consulting client – the holiday is now celebrated internationally annually in the industry. See a case study here.

I wrote and facilitated the first course on scrapbooking offered at BarnesandNobleUniversity.com, as well as the the first course on scrapbook journaling offered at WritersOnlineWorkshops.com. I also worked with Epson to teach digital scrapbooking classes at conventions nationwide.

I taught classes in local scrapbooking stores across the United States and Canada, and gave a keynote speech to 1500 home business consultants. The speech was so well-received, I sold out of 400 books in about 45 minutes.

Currently, I speak to local Kansas City organizations on topics related to blogging, content strategy, and editorial calendars.

I grew up in Kansas City, attended University of Wisconsin-Madison, and returned to make my home in Kansas City with my husband and two children. Once I become rich and famous, I plan to hire an assistant, a maid, and a masseuse. Until then, cooking, dishes, and a never-ending mountain of laundry keep me quite humble.
